International Sabo Award ceremony
The International Sabo Award ceremony was held on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, in the conference room of the Sabo Kaikan. At the ceremony, guest addresses were given by Mr Masaru Kunitomo, Director of Sabo Department; Dr Masao Okamoto, Vice-Chairman of Japan Sabo Association; and Dr. Taro Uchida of the University of Tsukuba. Subsequently, Dr Yoshiharu Ishikawa, Chairperson of the Board of the International Sabo Association, presented the International Sabo Award to both recipients.
Following the conferment ceremony, commemorative lectures were delivered by Mr Alessandro Pasuto and Dr. Shieh,Chjeng-Lun, entitled respectively “Natural Hazards and Disasters: how can we break the link?” and “Review of Taiwan-Japan Exchange on Sediment-related Disasters”.
