The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism provided water level observation buoys to Taiwan free of charge.
Due to heavy rains caused by the approach of Typhoon No. 18, a natural dam collapsed in Hualien County, eastern Taiwan, on September 23, resulting in a disaster. In response, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism provided Taiwan with a buoy capable of continuously monitoring the water level of earthen dams free of charge. The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Taipei Office handed it over to the Taiwan Association for Relations with Japan, Taiwan’s liaison agency for Japan, on the 17th.
