Meeting on Measures for Natural Dams in Fata’an river.
On 26 February 2026, from 14:00 to 17:40, a meeting to exchange views on measures concerning the natural dam in the Fata’an river was held at the Sabō Kaikan.
The participating members were, on the Taiwanese side, Dr Tsang, Yun-Chung, Dr Lee, Shin-Ping, and Dr Wang, Shang-Ming(National Cheng Kung University Disaster Prevention Research Center）. The Japanese participants were Mr. Akunuma(Sabo Frontier Foundation) ,Mr. Okamoto, Atsushi; Mr. Yoshino Kousuke; Mr. Has, Baator(Asia Air Survey Co,.LTD.); and Mr. Chida, Yōji ( International Sabo Association ).
Dr Shin-Ping Lee presented on the response and challenges from the onset of natural dams to the present day, while Dr. Yoshino provided insights on simulation models in Japan. Discussions were held on these topics.
