At the technical session on September 23, Japanese and Taiwanese participants each gave three presentations on sabo-related surveys and research, followed by a general discussion by all participants. On September 25, a sabo officials' conference was held, where Japanese and Taiwanese participants each gave presentations on three topics, followed by a general discussion.
As a field trip, conference participants visited Mt. Jiu Fen Er, an area severely damaged by a 1999 earthquake, to see structures constructed for disaster prevention. They also visited the research forest of the National Chung Hsing University to see a landslide dam bursting experiment. They had active discussions and exchanges of opinions at both sites.
