The 2014 Japan-Taiwan Joint Research Conference on Sabo was held in Japan on November 22 through November 28, 2014, with 15 participants from Taiwan.
The conference participants went on a field trip on November 23. They visited the "de Rijke" sabo dam in Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture, and the landslide prevention structures in the Muro area of Uda City, Nara Prefecture. On November 24, the technical session of the conference was held in Nara City. The director of the River Office, Department of Urban and Public Works, Osaka Prefectural Government gave a presentation entitled "Sediment-related Disaster Prevention Measures in Osaka Prefecture", followed by an active exchange of opinions by Japanese and Taiwanese participants.
From November 25 through November 28, the conference participants attended an international symposium "INTERPRAEVENT 2014" that was under way in Nara City and interacted actively with symposium participants from around the world.
