As part of its international exchange activities related to sabo technology, the Association conducts sabo technology exchanges with Taiwan. In response to a request from Taiwan’s Department of Water Conservation, Ministry of Economic Affairs, we welcomed a 13-member delegation led by Chief Engineer Chen,Chien-Chen from the Department of Water Conservation, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and accompanied by two interpreters, etc., at Sabo Kaikan on Friday, November 8, 2011.
Technical Advisor Masato Jogasaki gave an overview of Japan’s Sabo countermeasures. And he also discussed the exchange of sabo technology between Japan and Taiwan and the activities of Japan Sabo Association.
During the Q&A session, there was a lively exchange of opinions on the concept of Sediment Disaster Alert, emergency measures after the formation of a natural dam, and methods for disposal of sediment.
