Participants also actively exchanged their views at the poster session which was held concurrently. On April 27, the day after Interpraevent 2012, the Sabo Officials Conference (Summit 2012) was held with the attendance of delegates from seven countries — Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, France, and Japan. Various activities being taken in each country were reported and discussed under the main theme “Extreme Events: Limits of Management.” At the end of the conference, final conclusions and recommended actions were presented. They included the conclusions that we need to develop state-of-the-art monitoring systems and structural measures; shape new concepts to mitigate unexpected extreme events; and expand and strengthen multilevel transfer of experience and technologies. |
