The 2013 Japan-Taiwan Joint Research Conference on Sabo was held in Japan on February 23 (Sunday) through March 1 (Saturday), 2014, with 15 participants from Taiwan.
At the technical session on February 24 (Monday), Japanese participants gave three presentations and Taiwanese participants gave four presentations, followed by a general discussion by all participants.
A field trip was conducted on February 25 (Tuesday) through February 27 (Thursday). The participants visited the site of a landslide that occurred in Haruno-cho, Tenryu-ku, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture in April 2013. They also visited the site of a sediment-related disaster in Oshima Town, Tokyo that caused enormous damage due to Typhoon No. 26 in October 2013, and then exchanged opinions at the Oshima Town Office.
